“Let Food be thy medicine” is a famous proverb for empowering healing and a great method for us today.
Liquids are a brilliant part of this remedy. There are many types of beverages to slurp your way to health, but I will just show you my personal favorites today. I do have top notch programs and services coming up but right now I just want to share this awesome stuff with you and it can’t wait until then. So let’s get slurping!
Juicing fresh fruits and vegetables is what I call fast food. A 15 minute fast food release from drinking to absorbing top notch vitamins into the bloodstream and cells.
You can do many great combinations as long as you make it in a juicer or it’s made fresh in front of you. EVERYTHING else is cooked or pasteurized and full of dead sugar. Gross!
Some great basics include a combination of: carrot apple orange, apple cucumber greens lemon, plain carrot juice and beetroot pineapple orange juice.
Fresh smoothies are one of the best ways to get a lot of fiber in a pre-digested way. The best ones only include fresh fruits and vegetables, and maybe some super foods or good for you sweeteners like raw honey and *stevia. No clogging your body with gunk here. My favorites are green smoothies. I know they sound scary and even gross but the health benefits are amazing. Yes, you can make scary green monsters that taste like heaven.
Green Smoothie Basics
A handful or baby spinach or a few big leaves
Blend with water to cover until smooth and add a few drops of liquid *stevia, raw honey or *agave to taste if necessary
Hidden Green Smoothie
A handful or greens
2 tablespoons of carob, raw cacao or normal cocoa powder
1 dessert spoon of almond butter (optional)
Water to cover and blend – this one is great for those who can’t stand the green color – it tricks them!
You can also do some great smoothies like blending just one piece of fruit or mixing them. Simple ones like banana berries, orange-mango and all with water. Add raw nut butter if you need extra creaminess.
This is the bomb of health! It’s used as a plasma transfusion. The water as a hydration method for athletes (for electrolyte loss) and the oil has the same properties mothers’ breast milk.
You can chop open a coconut to get this amazing elixir ASAP or buy it pasteurized in stores.
Kombutcha Fermented Tea and Water Kefir both have amazing probiotic qualities and health benefits. The process can be a bit long but it is definitely worth it. Me and my mum sip these drinks all summer long and make ginger beer versions during winter. You can Google both on how to make and where to get a culture starter to create these amazing health and beauty elixirs.
These drinks are great elixirs for health, beauty and energy. I dare you to try at least one this week so post a comment below with your favorite and any other health drinks you love.
*stevia – is a word both for a plant and for a sweetener extracted from the leaves of that plant.
*agave – (also called agave syrup) is sweeter than honey
